Description
This week’s guitar lesson is a slow and dark sounding blues composition that’s played solo guitar (no accompaniment required). This is also played fingerstyle so you’ll be keeping time by simulating a bass line on each beat. This sounds great on acoustic or electric guitar.

Very cool! Thanks Brian
Loving it Brian!
I thought I’d already left a comment but hey, this is great stuff. Thanks Brian!
Is it just me or is Part 2 inaccessible to everyone. I just see an inactive vimeo link posted for Part 2. Nothing else.
Sorry – it wasn’t finished uploading. Try refreshing your browser – should work now.
What effects are you using? Are you using an overdrive pedal?
No, just straight into the amp on this one,
which pickups? boosting bass on the amp?
This is MY lesson again! Thanks Brian!
Yes got to love this one I expect Johan will be having a thumb up as well. Great piece to get the finger picking going just what the Doc ordered. Thanks john
Really love this one.and always great to see the Telecaster ! Have been noodling aimlessly in E for ages and this has given me a new focus and a couple of cool licks. Thanks Brian!
Nice fingerstyle lesson. Ive not been keeping too well lately so this will hopefully help me pick the guitar up again. Thank you Brian.
Another great this lesson Brian. I really appreciate the way you break down how you build your notes from the chords shapes and penta scales. This is very helpful.
Thanks
Ray
Down and Dirty. Like it !!
Yay! This will be perfect for my newly purchased Telecaster. I can’t wait to get started on it.
So hypnotising when playing it ! Thanks Brian. Another excellent lesson.
Very interesting how the basic simplicity of this is so effective a creating the dark mood. Great stuff!
It’s a sound cool,, like a Billy Gibsons thing
can’t edit these comments! GIBBONS
What a fun lesson man! thanks much really fun stuff!
thank you love it.
Brain! your driving me crazy! sooooooo many cool lessons and now this down and dirty bayou drag! (it’s a Biloxi thing) cant wait to jam with band friends it’s the prefect ‘tool’ to get each other warmed up and in sink, and plenty of places for everyone to show off a little free wheeling solos,, keep it coming buddy! love it!
Love the finger-style blues!🎶
This is hands down the most challenging one I’ve attempted to date. Nothing complicated at all but keeping that thumb on th beat is not as easy as it looks. Will preserve
I can’t keep my thumb beating and play the rest. I’ve just resorted to just playing everything else and using a loop pedal for the bass.
Great lesson, Brian…thank you!
Your bar 14 riff also sounds like a change Robert Johnson used in Kindhearted Woman
Really cool lesson Brian! Love the dark, slow atmosphere! More please!
Do the lessons have any grading according to difficulty level ? If not, why not! ha
This is so zz top like! just enjoy this now!
I absolutely love this. Wow those dark tones……
