Description
In this week’s guitar lesson, you’ll learn a blues, rock composition that you can play by yourself (no jam track needed). You’ll be learning both rhythm and lead parts (comes with several Eric Clapton Cream style licks). This one can be played in ANY key because there are no open strings!

BRENDAN G says
Hi Brian, love this lesson!
A quick question, I have the same guitar but i have a lot of trouble with the
pickup selector switch, my bridge pickup is hard to select. Have you had any issues.
Regards Brendan
Brian says
Brendan, I haven’t had any issues with the selector switch. Shoot me an email and I’ll send you my contact with B&G and they should get that sorted for you.

THANKS

Thanks Brian. Another one at the top of the favourites list for me (a long list right now). So melodic yet when you break it down, mostly just box 1 & 2 licks. Fantastic!
Also, like Michael says, I eagerly wait for Friday nights to listen to your latest gift of music. 🙂

Great lesson Brian with great licks I want to make my own asap, like the lick in the fifth bar. Very useful alsow the walk-down in bar 6. And I am only getting started… I am working on three other EPs at the moment, but I hope to get to this one soon soon.
sunburst says
feeling can only be achieved listening and watching while I follow the soundslice. as always very professional instructional composition.. i’m amazed how well you write your compositions too! thanks again for sharing Brian!
Patrick K says
Brian, that chromatic movement you do in the 19th bar over the Cm is very similar to the intro to Idle Moments by the mighty Grant Green. Don’t know if you noticed that yourself.
Brian says
huh, you’re right. just coincidental though… although who knows, inspiration comes from so many places. i’m not worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence with Grant Green though 🙂
sunburst says
I never watched Grant Green but after reading here I youtubed, seems like a bit of chromatic jazz feel here, I notice if I keep that in mind the timing makes more sense following the soundslice
drlknstein says
thanks for putting the block letters explaining that you were at the 8th fret on account of the c minor on 8 and playing over c minor and using the 6th
—I should have known that but i was sitting there trying to figure it out and then the answer appeared…ha!…I was about to get it anyway
sunburst says
I read you too, think chromatic and it is easier imho, and measures 18 through 21 most interesting I thought I was ready but now think i’ll wait to showcase this myself
John M says
Brian, Great lesson! You keep mentioning Eric Clapton and Cream inspired but I hear Magic Sam.

Hey Brian, this is a great lesson, right up my alley. But then again, all your lessons are great!
This has to be the best online guitar site available to the guitarist out there.
Thank you for your devotion to teaching and, your weekly patience getting back to us with these great lessons.

You forgot a third reason you put these “complete” lessons together: They are damn fun to play!

Thanks Brian. At a few places I hear a Johnny A like sound making me realize, “Oh that’s how he makes that sound!”. Cheers, Tom

Hi Brian. I’m having trouble loading the second half of Ep 322. All I get is an error and reload. Is there anything you can do at your end?
Brian says
this sounds like it’s related to your browser. The solution that usually works for people is to close all opened tabs in your browser, close it, and restart it. If for some reason that doesn’t work (and it should), you could always try using a different browser, i.e. Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.
Paul F says
Really love the sound of that B&G.
Glen G says
Holy wow!!!! This is such a great piece. I’m finding myself definitely placing a higher priority on the “solo” pieces in the library. Exciting week as I’m practicing this in my hotel in Southern CA where I’ll be staying for the next six days to attend NAMM. And one of my highlights will be meeting Brian in person and thanking him for this great community he’s created. Cheers to everyone!!

Well I know how I’m spend my Sunday. This one looks like great fun 🙂

Hi Brian,
This is one of my favorites from the lessons that I’ve viewed so far. It’s challenging for me, but rhythm / lead lessons are the type I usually try to learn. I’m focusing mostly on blues and like many of the one guitarist bands – Zeppelin, Hendrix, Cream, Floyd. This style of lesson really helps develop the sound I’m looking for. Thanks for the great site.
Richard R says
That was so much fun. Starting to see/get used to 1st,2nd poisition. Very happy you hammer these points home for us. I can see where the lessons are kinda going alot of the time now and have an understanding of the fretboard however basic it is. Only took a cuole years lol. Thanks Brian!!!
