Description
In this blues guitar lesson, you’ll learn how to play a Robert Cray influenced lead on electric guitar in the key of A. This is played over an 8 bar blues. You’ll learn several Robert Cray signature licks and more importantly, you’ll learn the scales that these licks come from so that you can apply them to your own playing and use them when improvising.

Thank you Brian!! Agree with you on Robert Cray and his legacy! I had the good fortune of meeting him several times at his home on my old route.
Can you explain the pickups and thier configuration on that beautiful Stratocaster? thanks!

Back to the Blues! Yea! Good lessons, Brian. You put out some good riffs to build on. Like you said earlier, some like to play your lessons verbatim ac litteratim, and some (like me) like to improvise. That’s why my old music teacher “fired” me when I was a teenager over 50 years ago. The old Spanish maestro would yell “play la música as it is written” – but I didn’t want to do that! I wanted to add my own “stuff” and make it my own. Best regards, Charley D., Houston, TX.

Love the lesson and style, had to make several correction to the tab though. If you compare the part 1 and 2 video to the tab and make minor notes. You will get more out of it.
And I’m not Complaining about the tab, just making a point if you practice this with tab you will benefit to make minor notes.

Brian,
I need you to do this. 1 4 5 in A but center on the chord change. Which note/s do we need to be at, at the change? Also the difference between the first 5 and the turnaround 5. Thats what Im after. Can you help?

Hi Brian
Have you ever heard “Freight Loader” by Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page? I think it was done in ’65. I would love it if you covered that piece some day!
