Little Drummer Boy Acoustic Guitar Lesson – EP029

Description

This guitar lesson features an uptempo, somewhat bluesy version of the Christmas classic, “The Little Drummer Boy”. I’ve always loved that song, and wanted to create something that you can play on either acoustic or electric guitar, and yet something that also be played on it’s own with no accompaniment (we don’t always have a jam track handy). I hope you enjoy this version as much as I did arranging it!

Nice job.  I’d be interested in a lesson discussing how you went about arranging the piece with the harmonized double-stops, triads, etc.

I must confess I was ignoring this lesson because of the title but now I see I was mistaken.  This is a good exercise you can spin a lot off of.  I like it.

    You mention Chuck Berry….hint, hint…

I taught myself this song in drop d tuning last year. I like this version quite a bit. Thank you. The fills are very elegant yet simple and cool.
