I think Brian is playing a Jeff Beck Strat. Notice the nut and color.

Love it! It’s like Pete Anderson, Bill Kirchen, and Brooks and Dunn’s “Workin’ On My Next Broken Heart” all rolled up into to one lesson.

Also, possibly the first time I’ve seen someone play twangy guitar on a surf green Jeff Beck Strat. LOL

Brian, I’m not even into country at all, except for a little KU, but you sure make it sound so attractive and now I want to have a go at that, too!
Also, your intros are so informative, I learn a lot just from your introductions, especially when you explain the gear setup, thanks so much!

Great lesson ! I have a Nashville Deluxe Tele I’ve been wanting to play more. Perfect reason here!

BTW, this background is much preferred to the white. It gives a little depth and is easier on the eyes. After years of takiong your lessons, I’m still excited every week to seee what’s next. You never dissapoint.

Nice lesson to diversify a bit. I have never really played much country style but I do enjoy it. Curious how you would instruct another guitar to accompany this in the rythym section.

Very cool lesson Brian! Think your selling yourself short on the Country picking skills.
Any chance you could do some Cody Jinks? Especially Adobe album or a couple of albums back he has a Bluesy/Country song called Fasthand.
    Thx.
FYI, because of this lesson and the way you teach for a single guitarist(can’t find jam buds anymore), I joined!

Brian, I am a guitar beginner. One question on gear setup…I have a Fender Champion 20. You say dont use a clean sound, etc. My amp starts with tweed, then British, etc. So what setting or voice should I be on before adding a little gain? Love your teaching style and all your lessons. Mike C.

Hey Brian…..So here’s the thing. I put the Full Screen tab viewer up on the 55″ using Airplay and it works perfectly. But would love to have it so that we could listen to the jam track and view the tablature at the same time. Is that possible? I can’t seem to figure that out. I know that I could print the tablature out and just play the jam track but would like to have the ability to do it using Airplay. Im sure this has been addressed somewhere along the line and apologize for a repeat question.

    regards,
Patrick ( father of Michael )

I’ve been a member now for a bit over a month, and this is the first song that I’ve made it all the way through. I’m still a little rough around the 12th fret with my timing, but I’m hitting all the notes and having fun with it.

What a great song for my first ever country song (I grew up on rock & roll and blues so playing country has been a mystery to me). Thanks Brian for taking the mystery out of it and giving another clear lesson on how all the various parts fit together – and can fit into other styles as well.

Think I’ll steal this as my “go to” country jam. By the way it works well with Swinging Doors by Merle Haggard. I think he did it in G, but thats what knowing music theory is for lol.

Curious… you say let the open A ring as you go to the full bend at the start of the second section. When I do that on my strat the bend causes the open A to drop in pitch. I assume that’s normal considering there are just springs holding it to tension. Is your trem special? Or do you actually mute it before the bend?
