Under the Double Eagle

I was insulted into learning this years ago. A fellow asked me if I played guitar and I said ‘yes.’ He asked if I could play ‘Under the Double Eagle’, to which I said ‘no’. He then quipped-“Then you can’t play guitar.” So I learned it and fell in love with it. Today, it’s considered a traditional bluegrass tune. However, it originally was a German march. Go figure. Needless to say, here is my rendition. I always try and keep it rehearsed, just in case.😉

Some cool picking there John, I’m not too familiar with the Bluegrass standards but sounds like you passed the benchmark as a true guitarist years ago.

Very impressive John. This one sounds speedy and difficult to do. A great way to impress if someone hands you a guitar with the dreaded “play something ” request. Even worse if they ask for specific songs. 🤔
