Another project done by Half-Deaf Records…
Initially, I was gonna play the rhythm guitar on it but couldn’t get into it fast enough. Not exactly my style of playing music, I guess 😉 My friends recorded it and I get credits for putting this video together. I used iMovie, as usual. Putting all the videos together and synching them was tricky, to say the least!
Thanks for watching 🙂

Well done Jola you certainly have some musical friends what great voice the singer puts out. As for syncing you have done a great job quite a few tracks to assemble by the look of it and you certainly didnt sink!
All the best

I love the singer – great control of her vocals, and spot on pitch. Those are some hard-rocking dudes!

Too bad you couldn’t participate in the muscial part, JoLa, but you did a great job on the video. The band sounded fantastic, did everything right! The singer is incredible. She reminded me a bit of Suzi Quatro. More of this, please!

Some high energy rock and roll! I love it! Jola, your video production skills on this are professional level. You did this with iMovie? Did you have to put the first two video clips in, then publish, then create a new project to add the other video clips? Anyway… Awesome work!

Jola,
What a synchronization nightmare! It looks like a distant collaboration. I couldn’t make out if the drummer and guitarist recorded together. I assume the guitar (+/- drum) track was done first and the other parts done after.

Great job JoLa on on a production well put together. Your band sounds great. You’re lucky to have a group of musicians as friends that you can hang out with and create music. The ultimate learning experience. You guys need to be out in the road!

Jola- this is what music is all about. People coming together.
Loved the shots of the pitbull and the toilet.
As always, thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks, guys, I appreciate all your comments on behalf of my friends and myself 🙂

I remember Suzi Quatro! And you’re right, Kevin, too bad I couldn’t join in but my playing abilities are quite limited. Those guys make it look easy … 😕

Yep! In iMovie, I used a black background so I had to add one video clip at a time. I put the 1st clip and saved project to computer desktop. Then added that project to my media and used that as my background, added 2nd video, synced it and saved it to desktop, and so on with each clip. I had to sync them with each other and with the audio track, of course.

You’re right, John. Ray, the producer, is the mastermind behind all this. He first recorded the rhythm guitar and bass with the help of synthetic drums. How he navigated throughout the song without the vocals is what amazes me! The drummer recorded separately but I also used the footage I recorded when they were jamming together a little bit. The singers recorded their bits afterwards and then Ray added guitar solo. Every project is a little different but it usually starts with Ray laying down a rough mix track and maybe asking the singer to lend some “dummy vocals” as he calls it. So yes, it is pretty much a distant collaboration but we meet together for recordings.

Good idea, Billy, I’ll let her know… The vocalist is a bit shy and insecure but I think she’s gaining some confidence and starting to sound really good 🙂
Thanks again, everyone! To be continued ….

Great job Jola! Quite a bit of fine recording work there. I have trouble adding a backing track.

Great job JoLa and therefore respect for video production. I want to see you in the next track. I think you could have taken over a few passages. Anyway, I think your neighbors were blown away. Thumbs up!
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.
