On Victoria Spivey’s label, 1968. The musicians are listed on the video graphics. Otis Spann on piano and Sammy Lawhorn on guitar on both volumes.

        Vol. 1

Pee Wee Madison’s version of Little Walter’s “Last Night” on Vol. 2 is one of the highlights for me. It’s his tribute to the recently departed Marion Walter Jacobs.

        Vol. 2

Way to go, Don! You never cease to amaze me, with your vast knowledge of the history of blues. I feel lucky to have you on the AM forum. When I was a kid, there was a powerful AM radio station in Nashville which only played blues, and at night I could get it on my car radio all the way down in Florida. I don’t remember the name of the station, but they always advertised heavily for a place called “Ernie’s Record Mart”. It was my only source of blues music for years.

These are some great records; we’re lucky they’re up on YouTube. I’m glad you’re enjoying them.
