I imagine most has seen the documentary on AXS TV that chronicles the life of Stevie Ray – one of the better docs that I’ve seen on his life
Denny Freeman was interviewed several times during that show; he has an extensive career out of both TX and CA having played with Stevie, Jimmy, Bob Dylan, Angela Strehli, Lou Ann Barton, James Cotton, Taj Mahal, and Percy Sledge
Here’s an instrumental CD by Denny that is available on You Tube that is an excellent contemporary blues recording. Denny really covers the many facets of the blues from roots music to jazzy blues
Billy, hope this isn’t blocked in your area – this will probably be another CD for you to track down…….
One thing I’ve always wondered: How do jazz musicians know when it’s time to change chords? They can play along on the same chord for 30 or so bars, then suddenly they all simultaneously change to a new chord. Do they use hand signals?
The video is not blocked in New Zealand. We used to have a lot of blocked videos on Youtube – mainly ones that originated in Germany. But I haven’t had a video blocked for several years now.

Yea, Those are some great shows. I have a backlog on the dvr to catch up with.
