I just recovered from a broken index finger on my fretting hand. Trying to get back in playing shape by playing some easier fundamental material. I was looking through lessons and found EP038 in which Brian taught three turnarounds which were two bars apiece. Rather than learn the turnarounds I challenged myself to take the first bar of each turnaround and see if I could build a complete solo using the phrases or variations of the phrases. This is what I came up with. Let me know if you have any questions.

Broken forefinger on fretting hand!!! That’s not good at all Barry. I would really take it easy before getting back into it. That’s one of those fears that all guitar players have when it comes to our hands. How did it happen?
Looking at your video lesson, I would never know it was broken so you must have recovered quite quickly. I like all the licks in this lesson and glad to add them to the list.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

Michael – I broke it in the gym in April. Second broken finger in a year but the first one on my fretting hand. Had a nasty cut to the bone that built up a lot of scat tissue on the pad of my finger. Dr. said playing will actually help break down the scar tissue. I can’t bend very far with the first finger but that will come back I hope. Glad you liked the lesson

Sounded like your finger is all healed up Barry!
