Hi AMers,
For this month’s challenge I tried several pieces but none of them conveyed the feelings I intended (sadness, nostalgia). So I gave up, and went back to a project that I was having a lot of fun with. So the feeling for this submission is exactly that – fun
I’ve been playing around with synths so this piece includes a lot of stuff I made in GarageBand. With the exception of the main backing synth, this was all made by me which I’m rather proud of!
I also tried to sample random videos/sounds.
The singing I used in this piece fit perfectly to my chord structure and it was the first thing I clicked on!The addition of the cats in my video was just to add to the fun and to make my wife laugh. I think it’s time for me to get back into serious blues!
Thanks for watching

haha I love this!!!
The cats are so cool dancing and nodding, having fun with your rhythm.
Super bass groove and rhythm that you have created. The short lead matched well, too.
Yes it’s super fun to experiment with sounds in GarageBand.
I’d like to know how you made the video with the cats.
Great FUN feeling.More Blues!

Super creative, Ben. Did you choose the tempo to match the dancing cats? Really effective layering of sounds. The guitar tone at 1:46 was rad and the playing highlighted your love of blues.
You got a laugh out of my wife, also.

Haha no I changed the speed of the cats to match the rhythm. Honestly I have no idea what I was thinking, but I was definitely a lot of fun 😂

I’d love to have the cat in the upper right corner as a timekeeper for my music. A very creative post and very entertaining. Great.
Thank you,

Ben, you have created a music video that could well be played in any recreational food/bar/dance venue. It has public consumer appeal for the mainstream. Very creative take on the challenge and outside the box. Great work.

Haha, that was FUN indeed, I totally enjoyed your video, Ben! I immediately recognized the bobbing cat because The Kiffness uses that cat (and similar) a lot. What a fun project this must have been! Your music was outstanding, too, a bit funky and totally groovy, very danceable, and maybe a bit psychedelic – the dancing kittens, LOL! 🙀😻😹 Great guitar work, loved the short solo by the end! I would have loved it to be much longer, though!

Well, Ben, that had me grinning right from the start to the end 🤣🤣! So well constructed and performed, and very inventive – really well done, and YES you should be proud of the whole tune in fact 👍👍
I was just chatting to Denise about how wandering through the sound libraries of GarageBand and Logic can sometimes bring unexpected inspiration and ideas.
I can’t leave without mentioning – of course – the video! What pure joy to watch and listen to, a stand-out submission for this month’s challenge

Funky cats – I never thought I’d see this in the challenges. 😎 I usually try to avoid cat videos, but I must say, it was fun watching your submission, Ben.
Great playing, by the way.
It always is a great idea to get your wife to laugh. Happy wife, happy life.
I enjoyed that very much! 👏🏽👏🏽Bluesige Grüße

Excellent! It has the same rhythm and tempo as Stayin’ Alive. You know, it’s the song they tell people to hum to get the timing right while they’re doing CPR on someone. Great job on the recording and editing!

So many stunning original compostions this month. Something about this challenge seems to have tickled our creative genes. Loved this. All the layers contributed to produced a driving groove with an ear worm of a theme. Had a real Enigma vibe to it. So well recorded and produced.
Great video too! Anyone who doesn’t break out in a smile at the dancing cats has to be bored with life 😂
