September 2026 Challenge Response – Mike W

[Mike W]

Good day to you all,

The challenge is to pick one emotion or mood and play something that makes the listener feel it. I decided to play a tune that makes puts me into a peaceful mood, although there is just a hint of melancholy that also comes over as well.
It’s a tune recorded by The Shadows on their first album issued in 1961. Writing is credited to Young and Heyman.
It’s quite a simple tune, but it still took me many takes to get a decent video, by which time I was feeling less than peaceful.
Apparently it was used as a theme tune for a TV series called ‘The Medic’, although I don’t remember seeing it screened in the UK.
I hope you like it and maybe get a peaceful vibe.
I’m looking forward to seeing the other submissions.

Very peaceful vibe Mike. It sounds superb and right out of the 60’s.

A truly peaceful melody. And you can clearly hear “The Shadows” in it. A great track—it brings back memories. Awesome.

Thank you, Werner

Peaceful indeed.
Sounds like music from Tele series or movie.
Well done.

Nice tune, Mike. It has a peaceful flow to it that you expressed with your melody and rhythm playing beautifully.
