Hello my friends!
This month, I experimented with AI again in my video work (and only there!).The image of the dancing couple you’ll see in my video comes from a painting hanging on the wall of a tapas restaurant in Galway, Ireland. I wanted to capture and express my favourite feeling, and somehow, this painting seemed to fit perfectly.
It’s uncanny what AI can do in video production these days. At the same time, though, I found it almost impossible to stop it from changing the people in the original painting. No matter how hard I tried, the AI kept falling back on the same old clichés, turning these wonderfully individual characters into stereotypical versions of themselves.
Well, apart from expressing the feeling I had in mind, I also wanted to offer you a little entertainment along the way. I hope I’ve managed to achieve at least that!
Can you guess the feeling?
I’ve already seen some of your submissions, and I’m truly in awe of the brilliant responses to this challenge so far. This is going to be a fantastic AM weekend!
Cheers,
JuxiBluesige Grüße

I think passion is the right word.
Awesome playing Juxi.
Although I am not for AI in music, your video was nice.AndréM

Great playing always like that style of guitar music. You did a great job with it. The video is cool too. I’m so far behind the times when it comes to that. Maybe when I retire I’ll get into all that.
Again great job. -

Hi Juxi,
Yes, your composition had passion played and displayed in the AI characters in your video ! Some awesome Latin vibe in your rendition as well !🎶🎵🙂Don P

A truly impressive musical and visual performance.
Would it be possible for you to explain a few basics of AI editing here?

Hallo Dieter, that is kind of the problem: you do not need anyone to explain it to you. You just tell the AI ( in this case devid) what you want in plain speech. You can even tell ChatGPT to tell the video AI what you want.
Anyone can do it, you just have to be able to talk or write.
However, the outcome is not always what you want. I told the AI in many different prompts to not change the dancers. No chance. Perhaps AI experts have better prompts, I am just a guy who likes to try new things 😉Bluesige Grüße

Great playing Juxi, is that your own composition? It’s certainly very atmospheric and, as you say, passionate.

I stole the last longer lick (played out of time) from swiftlessons on YouTube. The chord progression is simple (am/dm/E7) the rest is just some improvisation with triads.
I found the intro in a very old and never used book about Flamenco Guitar that I own. 😊 and then I cobbled all of that together 😎Bluesige Grüße

Very cool, Juxi. The AI is impressive. My son does video and graphic animation for a living. Either his job just got a lot easier or it’s in jeopardy.

Wow, Juxi, what a post. Thanks for your thoughts on AI and video production. I’m going to give that a try, too, but with that flamenco, you’ve surprised the community yet again. Great idea and very well played.
Viele Grüße und hasta la vista

Great Flamenco rhythm and lead playing! You are a multi-talent. I was also impressed by your Kontrabass skills.
I loved that outro at the end!
Bravo, olé!More Blues!

Certainly a first for Active Melody. Some creative thoughts there Juxi, coupled with some beautiful guitar work. With the AI imagery you may well have opened Pandora’s Box.

Sounds passionate yet mournful? At any rate, excellent guitar playing! Sounding snappy and expressive!

That was cool Juxi…unique music and the dancers added some interest for sure. And I had the word/feeling right!
Interesting to me that the tapas place is in Ireland of all spots. But good food is universal!-

😂 that simply has to do with the fact that we went to Ireland for our vacation this summer. And after two weeks of Irish food we wanted to eat something else and there is great tapas restaurant in the centre of Galway 😎

That was a standout submission for this month’s challenge, Juxi – and not just for the video, that I found amazing, but your playing was excellent and definitely portrayed Passion 👏👏. Brilliantly done – Mark 👍🎶😎

Super cool, Juxi!! Your playing and the video. The two matched up perfectly. Loved the interplay of the two guitars with the dancing. Great acoustic guitar playing!! Loved toward the the end when you do the eyebrow thing after nailing that lick. Reminded me of the video on the internet where Frank Zappa winks when they’re playing the Whipping Post and nailing it.

Great sound and production quality Juxi. The AI effect of the dancers in the painting coming to life was unexpected and very surprising. Obviously we have passion portrayed in the music, so great job.
Root note patterns >>> CAGED shapes >>> TRIAD'S. Just put in the work and watch your guitar skills soar.

Wow the guitar work just grips my soul! The video work is amazing too. Uh, I have a crush on the lady in this. Can you get me her number? Seriously, the craftsmanship in this is top notch. Great choice of guitar genre. Your performance is smooth and seamless. This all evokes much passion!John

Hot and passionate and that’s not just the dancing! Was that your own composition Juxi?
The guitar work was fabulous, both the latino strumming and the lead work. Brilliant video too, the change from still painting to dancing couple and back again was superb. I’ll have to admit that I got very distracted at that point and might have stopped watching you play… just like John H…😉 😄. -

Wow, you’ve discovered your inner Spaniard, Juxi. But it’s amazing just how much Spanish spirit you’ve got in you. You nailed it with exactly the right vibe and attitude. And that definitely wasn’t AI.
Great, atmospheric changes in tempo!Ich bin wirklich beeindruckt!😮
Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom.

Your video was awesome and so was your playing. It sounded like a tango so it evoked passionate love in my mind.

I’d also like to use AI—not for playing the guitar itself, but for the presentation.I also think that even beginners can get some use out of it; my problem is more about finding a provider that offers something simple for my needs—something affordable and without memberships, licenses, subscriptions, etc.
In any case, I’m going to start looking for one now.

Hi Juxi, this is so creative! Yes, AI did the heavy lifting, but you sparked the idea and coordinated the video. Nice work! I’ve always loved the Spanish/Flamenco guitar style and you did a fine job of it here. Passion, indeed!

Olè hombre, that was fantastic and a lot of fun to watch! I love how you bring together so many different influence tapas in Galway and Spanish flamenco dancers in Germany – and make it all make sense! Yours is the first submission I am watching and what a great start it is!

That was really fun, Juxi! One thing that amazed me is that the dancers even kept time with the music. Great job!

Now, that’s entertainment! You did a fantastic job, Juxi – from the flamenco guitar compilation to the magical background! You’re quite a flamenco player, too – love what you did, especially the hammer-ons starting around 1:40 and when you ended the part with the look at the camera and the raise of eyebrows, haha! It made me laugh 😂😂😂 As long as your music is authentic (and, of course, it is!), a little bit of visual AI fun is totally acceptable, imo!
