This post marks my 48th consecutive challenge! It’s a time of reflection, how far I have come and where I want to go next.

I’ve been doing mostly stand alone compositions over the summer. Fun and challenging in their own right, but I found myself craving the energy and interaction of backing track lessons.

lately, I’ve been trying lots of the electric blues lessons released this year. So many great ones keeping me busy; The overall theme of the past few weeks is “excitement,” so that’s my emotion!

I landed on 636 for my submission- I liked the “limitation” of Bb and the call and response is always fun to play. I played Brian’s rhythm part, and improvised my lead. Thanks for listening!

Alan-Interesting that you ‘crave’ stand alones. Me too. I can’t seem to get enough of
’em. This sounds really smooth my friend. Wonderful performance. I like your tone, clarity and fluidity. Makes me want to get back into the backing track thing and jam along. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks John. As a home player standalone feels more organic and natural. But it’s a lot of work keeping the rhythm going! Lots more breathing room with backing tracks and lets me play in a different way. I tend to go through phases and waffle between those modes. I also think a part of me wants to be in a band again! 😀
