Hi everyone! I recorded the base acoustic guitar rhythm track very soon, but I struggled a bit to compose and play an electric guitar solo over it. It’s mainly based on a ascending sixths runs on the major chords and some pentatonic or natural minor phrases over the minor chords.
On the 28th of September, I was lucky to attend the concert of David Gilmour at Circo Massimo in Roma. Amazing how he can still give great emotions with his guitar and voice at the age of 78! Unforgettable concert (last time I saw him was with Pink Floyd back in 1994, 30 years ago!)
So I paid a litte tribute to him putting as background some of the very few pictures I took during the concert (I wanted to see the concert with my eyes and not through a phone): the pine trees that surround Circo Massimo, colored by the lasers, and one picture of the great artist during the concert at the end.Guido

I like your composition, Guido and at last you have found a wonderful way to play a beautiful electric solo track over your acoustic rhythm track. Your ascending sixth runs are working perfectly here and it got surely a David Gilmour vibe and not only because of the pictures.
You really let your musicality shine on like a crazy diamond.Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom.
The next Meetup will take place sometime in December/January.There will be a detailed announcement here in the forum by beginning of december at the latest.
I look forward to meet you.

What a great sound Guido! I can tell Gilmour’s concert was influencing you with those big bends. I really like the harmonized 6ths as well. Nice!!

Gilmour’s gig has had its influence here for sure and why not!
The soulful interplay between the acoustic and electric is lovely and I like the bridge and the pause you added to change the mood and build tension. Great stuff Guido 👏.
Very envious of you having been able to see the man produce his magic too! -

So beautiful, Guido! Hard to imagine you struggled with anything here but do hear Gilmour’s influence here in the feel – and that big long bend 🙂 You’re so lucky to have been able to hear him live, his talent and influence are unmatched.

Nice Guido! I really liked the combination of the fingerpicked acoustic and the electric lead. It was mysterious, but with a modern rock flare.

Wow Guido! Your music is inspired and tells a fascinating story with how you arranged the sounds from both your acoustic and electric guitars. Both parts are dynamic and beautiful, and together … “meraviglioso”! Well done. Tom

That was beautifully played Guido. I liked the change of tempo and the gradual slow finish and the acoustic and electric guitars blended really well.

Superb submission Guido! The layering of the electric guitar on the acoustic backing track was awesome! I also enjoyed the chord variations, they give an original dreamy taste. Thanks for sharing the pictures from David Gilmour’s concert!
If I wasn't making mistakes I wouldn't be the kind of player I want to be. Perfection is dangerous.

This is terrific! The two guitars work perfectly in this context: the acoustic rhythm setting the stage for the modern but moving lead. The whole thing had a very classic vibe, yet was contemporary at the same time. Great work.

An acoustic and electric, who would have thunk it? I like! Beautifully coupled together.

Great idea on using both C and E. BTW I lobe the sound of your Hummingbird. Sounds so full and the bottom end just rings like a bell. This is a great duet with yourself Guido. You kept it brief-which leaves the listener wanting more. I really enjoyed how your lead blended with the rhythm. Great job.

Beautiful composition Guido, superb chord progressions on the folk guitar. You should leave a few bars before attacking the improvisation to reinforce the contrast and emotion then brought by your lead on the electric. I like it.
