So this has been a weird month after six months of lockdown semi lockdown we went for a holiday in our camper van three days in the site got closed coz covid.
We were in France in March when they closed down and had to be repatriated 1 day into a skiing holiday.
I guess I’m suffering from a bit of cabin fever and just generally feeling down in the dumps this month I just couldn’t focus at all in the end I’ve done a run through with no rhythm on my part because it was so awful. The timing on the lead isn’t great and the playing sounds well off the pace to me.
I decided to put the sound over a video of some bees we had a glorious season in the garden this year hopefully you’ll enjoy the video if not the playing

So that’s what Brian’s original backing track sounds like! I completely blotted it out in my submission because there was a loud hum on the track that I recorded. Great job and is that a Geranium bush that those bees are flocking round?

Yes it is at the start of the year my son and wife decided to make the garden as bee friendly as possible. They’ve started next year’s project already turning one of the lawns into a wildflower meadow.

Hi Greg, the important thing is that you are okay. Damn stupid time, you’re right. It’s only bearable if you don’t think about it all the time. Nice submission and, stay safe.
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Nice job Greg. This virus has dampened everybodys’ enthusiasm. We are all getting cabin fever, as long as it isn’t Covid fever!
Stay safe. -

I actually like it a lot, Greg! Considering that you said you were not into it and just did a quick run through, this was exactly what a jam SHOULD be – do what you can to keep up with Brian’s playing. The fact that you skipped rhythm parts did not affect the overall quality of submission at all and your licks were coherent and well played. I liked that each one of them was a direct response to what Brian was playing which to me sounded fantastic. I wish I could be half the player you are.
And the buzzing bees video was a very appropriate visual to jamming with King B! 😉

Hey Greg, this is like watching a movie and we’re all in it! (not your Bees of course, the whole CoVid nightmare). But, we’re all in it together. Hope all is on the improve. great that you tackled this Challenge considering all that is happening. It wasn’t easy anyway. I reckon this was the hardest challenge for me since I joined AM and I took many takes to get mine right. All the best. Your licks sounds pretty good to me.

That was so good and taking the rhythm out was a great idea. Worked so well, I wish I had of thought of that. 😊 Happy Bees.

The bees have been having such a hard time recently it uplifting to see so many happy ones!
It felt like you had a lot to say on this challenge despite you’re concerns. There were some tasty licks in there and all the responses set very well against Brian’s. Keep sane and safe, this will pass. -

Good replies to Brian for sure Greg! You did well – especially with your circumstances. your playing reminded me of a great duo of Eric Clapton and Joe Bonamassa doing Further On Up The Road live where they answer each other in this style. Bob

Greg, I enjoyed both, the video and your playing! You threw in some very nice licks. No problem that you left out your rhythm part. I heard many submissions that included the rhythm part, but with strange sounding chords and timing. To my ears, it’s sounds much better to play it the way you did!
