A heart warming hour with a true legend of the blues…Buddy Guy.
Hi Matt,
That’s a big deal posting for me and for all who like the Blues. Buddy is perhaps my all time blues man. If I could ever get to really play the blues like a blues man I would love to be able to copy his dynamics… no chance of course but he made a dream for many of us and when I first heard him on ‘Hoodoo Man Blues’ and ‘Its My Life’ I knew that was the music for me and its why I am here now 45 years on!
Thanks for posting.

Hey John, Buddy is one of my favorites as well. His tone, touch, attitude and stage presence are one of a kind. I always loved his vocals, the way he belts it out. I don’t take much time to post on the forum, but I wanted somebody else to enjoy this. It was so heartfelt he was almost in tears talking sometimes. I would love to go to see him at his club in Chicago before it’s too late
A wonderful documentary. Thanks for sharing Matt. Buddy’s humour and modesty is reflected in how he’d like to be remembered … “He wasn’t the best in town – but was the best until the best come around.”
Here’s one of his many great songs.

I had the honor to see Buddy play live in – of all places – Colorado Springs, CO – on June 19, 2018! Not a big town south of Denver about 60 mi/90 clicks. he played maybe 15 songs is all. However, his stories were amazing and made up for the lighter load of tunes for sure. Bob

Here are Buddy Guy and Junior Wells in a great collaboration from 1975.
