This is one many of you will know. A beautiful prelude written for Chello by J.S.Bach.
I can play this piece countless times and there will always be a wrong note or a buzz somewhere 😝. Like all Bach music, this is just darned difficult to play and it is one I have come back to over the years. I guess I am a glutton for punishment.

This was in my repertoire once upon a time Geoff. Thanks for bringing back some memories. Yes, Bach definitely a challenge on guitar for sure. And you absolutely kept the flow and musicality of the piece going beautifully. Kudos! 👏👏👏🌟👏👏👏 All the best! 😎🎸😎

I can’t even imagine being able to play that Geoff. That’s on a whole nuther level.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

Hi Geoff,
To me, Bach is the greatest classical composer. He mostly builds tension and release not through rhythmic patterns, but through musical phrases.
You master his truly difficult music wonderfully. It’s impressive that you play the piece entirely from memory.
By the way, I’ve been “struggling” with an early English piece for a while now, trying to finally get it up to the required tempo.Dieter

Thanks Dieter, I will say that Bach is up there as one of my favorite composers though it is a style from a particular period. His ability to build tension and release is absolutely masterful and breathtakingly beautiful and that is what makes his music so darned difficult to play. You can see from all the sharps and flats he throws in the musical score that his compositions drift in and out of the key all the time. I wish I could play all of the Bach transcriptions for guitar but so much of his music is beyond my ability.
Is the piece you are working on a Rennaisance era piece? Trust me, those can be very technically rough to play. No doubt I would be struggling too. I will say that I LOVE the music from that period.

Well done Geoff! That looked difficult but it sounded wonderful!

Wonderful interpretation, Geoff. A classic piece of music.
