Hello AM friends!
I am sorry for being late. I had very little time this month. I nearly decided to skip this challenge (which would have been only the second time in four years), but then I saw Bill’s response which motivated me to present something to you.
I wanted to do my own thing based on Brian’s EP on the “Saints”, but I ended up with an only very slightly changed version of Brian’s lesson. Well, of course, apart from all my mistakes and the tempo 😬I will try to have a look a your submissions late this evening and next week.
Cheers, Juxi.
Bluesige Grüße

Well I’m glad to hear my submission was good for something! 😅
This sounds just fine Juxi. Cool Godin guitar! -

Yep, you played that to perfection, Juxi. Actually, it’s kind of nice to hear someone play the lesson, which I never heard until yesterday.

Nicely done Juxi, as expected Brian’s arrangement is very cool. Your rendition is spot on – well done.

This is the right attitude, Juxi. Kudos for the spontaneously decided participation.
And it was worth it. I have no idea, where the mistakes have happened. It was almost perfect for a quick shot. And I know what I’m talking about, I’ve played this often enough in the last few weeks.
Übrigens, schneller habe ich meine Version auch nicht gespielt.Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom
The next Meetup will be in spring 2025There will be a detailed announcement here in the forum a few weeks before.
I look forward to meet you.

Well, for a last minute job Juxi, that was so well performed. I admire your determination to post something this month and yes, it was definitely worth waiting for.

Excellent arrangement Juxi.
Awesome playing.
Is this your studio or a green screen?
Very nice axe thx to Bill for letting me know its a Godin, my bass is a Godin.AndréM

Hi André, it is a green screen- the stage of Thommy Emmanuel at his last concert near my hometown 😊

Good to see you getting in with this late entry Juxi. Sounded perfectly played to me too. However, I couldn’t take my eyes off that Godin so if they were any mistakes I’d have never noticed 😂
BTW Have you nicked Tommy Emmanuels guitar stand? That looks just like his 🤔 -

Spontaneous last minute entries tend to be the best, and yours is the proof!
First of all, you’re not late, Juxi. It’s still Sunday evening as I’m watching your sub.
Second of all, you had Brian’s lesson WELL under your fingers and you were hesitant to submit it and thought about skipping? WTH – I guess it’s a good thing you saw Bill’s post then, your rendition was spotless and sounded great!
Third of all, nothing wrong with playing Brian’s lesson in lieu of your own arrangement.
Fourth of all, nice backdrop
Fifth of all, very nice guitar

Thanks for your kind words JoLa. Yes, in the little time I had I was practicing Brian’s lesson. But my plan at the beginning of the month was to come up with something great. Jazzy chord arrangements with my very jazzy lead played over them 🙄
Thus, when I was not able to pass phase 1 of my plan I became frustrated
Then I saw Bill’s submission and realised- I am an idiot. 😊👋🏽Bluesige Grüße

Juxi
Nicely played. Very professionally performed. Love the sound of that guitar. Can I ask from where do you get your backgrounds? Are they your pictures or do you grab them on the internet? Thanks in advance.John

Hi John, all of my backgrounds are pictures I took myself. The one in this challenge I took when I was at a Thommy Emmanuel concert in September.

Brilliantly and flawlessly played, Juxy! In fact I think no one (or almost anyone) played the original Brian’s lesson before, so this is quite refreshing, especially if perfectly played! Very well done, and your axe looks and sounds gorgeous!

Hi Juxi, well played and fun to listen to! This was smooth and melodic with some nice variations. I enjoyed it!
I was going to say, I think that looks like Tommy Emmanuel’s stage setup… then I read in some of the above comments that it is! Great idea! The green-screen gives you so much flexibility with your videos. I always enjoy them! -

Hi Juxi , nice rendition played on that classy godin guitar , sounds so rich .
Are you opening for Tommy Emanuel by any chance ? You seem to be sharing his stage !Martin

Wow Juxi! You did this nice submission in such a short time, great! Played so well!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
If I wasn't making mistakes I wouldn't be the kind of player I want to be. Perfection is dangerous.
It's all about taking risks, sometimes you get to some place, sometimes you get to a different place. (Brian May) -

Excellent playing under such tight constraints, Juxi. I think I saw Brian’s lesson for the first time when Manfred posted a few weeks ago.
Anyway, congrats on still making it and in such a good quality!

Glad Bill nudged your motivation. Loved the little notes you threw into the melody.
