Hi fellow active Melody members, wishing you all have a safe and merry Christmas!!
This challenge I just jammed with a Quist backing track, just doing my favourite nuances, so it’s a little long but I don’t have very sophisticated equipment…(at the very end of my playing I was trying to pause the Utube video and a commercial came on on the audio , how rude LOL.)
Anyway Hope you enjoy an we I’ll see you next year🇨🇦😊🧑🎄🎄j

Awesome, Catherine! That thrilled me to the bone. It is fantastic how you feel the notes and do not even have to look at the fretboard to play these wonderfully tasteful bends and licks. I also love the way you seem to dance with your guitar while playing. Hammergeil! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Hi Catherine, simple lines but embellished tastefully and phrased so well! Plus, your tone is amazing. It fits the mood of the track perfectly. I really (always) enjoyed this one.

This is one of those long posts that I wish were longer.
Quist should be thanking you for putting so much soul onto one of his tracks.
Nary a note out of place. Totally mesmerizing blues and its obvious you feel it. -

One thing is for sure, Catherine, this slow blues comes right out of your soul. And you have the skill to transport this feeling exactly to your listener. I enjoyed this a lot!
Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom
The next Meetup will be in spring 2025There will be a detailed announcement here in the forum a few weeks before.
I look forward to meet you.

Wow thank you Catherine for the early Christmas present! That was amazing! I particularly liked the bend around 4.30, it was unexpected and made me smile. You’ve given me confidence to try a few more trills too.

Catherine you are AM Queen of the blues.
Love the way you play.
I think Quist was inspired By B.B. on this one.
Well done.AndréM

Oh, my this leaves me speechless, Catherine! No words can describe how beautiful this music sounded to my ears, the tone, the phrases, the tastefulness of your playing is seriously on another level! You’re an amazing player and you should maybe have your playing on Spotify or something. I know you wouldn’t make any money from that (music business is tough for artists nowadays) but I feel like your music should be shared and this world would be a better place!

Really soulful Catherine…you must have part of an old blues player in your DNA. Of course the notes, bends, and licks are all amazing, but the groove…that’s what you’ve got most of all. Awesome!

Such a soulful performance Catherine! You’re always so inspiring to me!
If I wasn't making mistakes I wouldn't be the kind of player I want to be. Perfection is dangerous.
It's all about taking risks, sometimes you get to some place, sometimes you get to a different place. (Brian May) -

Just superb Catherine, there’s always so much to learn from your playing. Excellent choice of licks to suit the BT, phrasing that always appears so natural and a tone you get from that LP it’s so enviable. Another great performance from you.

Really tasteful soloing, Catherine, with a special tone you could only get with some nice humbuckers. Something about the tone on the lower 3 strings really grabbed me. Easy to see that you just feel the music.

I’m with Jola: I’m just left kind of speechless after listening to your performance. Absolutely flawless. I will never understand how you are not a world famous musician. Well, at least you’re world famous in my house. And among the AM community. Brilliant!
