That long note he sang at the 6:06 mark was really impressive and then he did it again at 6:37. Where the heck does he store all that air at in his lungs? But it’s a great jam. Might be worth working the whole thing out on the guitar, but no way I could ever sing remotely like that.

I started to work out the first part of this as it’s just in standard tuning and it’s in Em. Thanks for posting this, but now I’m not going to get any sleep tonight.

Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

Thanks for sharing, Mark. That was an impressive performance. The use of harmonics and the dynamics were incredible. I was struck by his use of triads in the verses, something we could all take away from that.
Funny, I’ve always had some peripheral awareness of Nils Lofgren but couldn’t tell you much about him or who he played with. Always makes me wonder how talented you have to be to really break through.

His main gig was with Springsteen’s E Street band. I discovered him almost 50 years ago (showing my age here!) when I borrowed a live album from a friend.

50 years ago, no way the guy in the video is a day over 50.

Always liked Nils Lofgren, this is old footage of him as he is now 74. Yes he has played guitar for Springsteen but prior to that he came to be friends with Neil Young who had Nils play guitar for him in Crazy Horse when he was only 18. Goes to show his prowess as a young man.

Thanks for clarifying that point. I got the impression that I was witnessing a great up and coming player.
