Many of you know I live in a country where music is so different, so, although I find my ears of listening of music for meditation comes from the western part of China. When I was stationed in Thailand I felt the mystic of Asian music and that part has never left me. Kind of like my mother’s country and western LP’s of my childhood.
Music is something like a seed in our heart and when it finds the soil to blossom it lights the candle of musical thoughts that we hear for us to really meditate upon. An thus we find our direction in a journey of a path of musical dreams.

Please enjoy over some Asian tea

The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete

It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

i love this style of music and often play CDs at home that use oriental instruments and are very calming and meditative. Especially these days in our hyperactive world. Thanks for posting

              Great post

Here’s one that is a little more contemporary, I’m sure that you’ve heard of Keiko Matsui. This is an excerpt from one of her shows and features a Japanese flute. I also posted the full concert from BET Jazz

Around the 1:15 mark of the full concert, they actually play a blues featuring the flute and Keiko on keyboards

Hey Keith, thanks for posting music by Keiko. She sure is tops in her craft. I hope she’ll have a concert here in town, I’ll go, that’s for sure.
