Hello everyone, for this challenge I’m playing Ep153 awesome song with a great backing track. Here’s the setup; I play the song just as Brian wrote it. Then I repeat the first 12 bars and go into modified licks from Ep222 the last couple of licks I pulled from Ep094 you can find them about 1 minute 15 seconds into Ep094. I ended it by strumming out the backing track.
I apologize for such a long video. This song just got away from me. As always thank you
for listening. -

Well done Scott, looks like you were having lots of fun playing this one. How are you liking that PRS? I am considering getting one as well. I’m so glad I reviewed EP094 now. I’m going to steal that very first lick in there, but really that entire lesson is packed with super licks. I assume you used the lick from bar 19 which is another great lick.
It always amazes me how a simple challenge like this can cause us all to really appreciate all the hard work Brian has put into all these lessons. I just created a new Collection called must learn lessons and favorited EP094.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

Morning Michael,
Thanks for the comments. I had a lot of fun putting that together.
Your right EP094 has a lot of great licks.
In fact I’m going to revisit it and go through it again.
Love the PRS at a 499.00 price point you can’t go wrong. It played well right out of the box.

That was a top notch song Scott. So smooth and full of emotion. I liked the ending too.

That’s inspiring, Scott. Wonderful job putting this together with bits and pieces of different lessons all coming together for a lovely piece of music.

Such a great choice, that track is indeed beautiful and certainly must have been a joy to work with. A really nicely put together medley of licks from the lesson and other lesson(s). I also liked the ending!

Ah yes, I remember that lesson. It was super fun to learn, and by my memory, you pretty much nailed it. And I reckon 4:32 minutes is not really too long for a composition. Well played!

You did a great job putting those licks together – the result was a tasteful and satisfying composition. It certainly didn’t seem like four and a half minutes. Some smashing bends and vibrato, too.

Scott, the licks you chose fit perfectly into that piece. You played it all with so much feeling, and it was very atmospheric. Beautiful ending! It was a fine pleasure to listen to, all in all!

No problem with the length of the video, it’s such a cool song I could listen for hours. You were so in the moment you didn’t even stop when the backing track ran out 😀.
Beautiful and melodic playing throughout, you may have taken the licks from a number of different lessons but you wove them together with great skill. -

A wonderful piece of music, a pleasure to listen to. I have taken some notes and will follow up with some homework. The tone on your PRS was superb, and to play this for its first arrangement.

Nice arrangement very well put together incorporating those licks from the two lessons, you certainly got lost in the moment in this one , which is a good thing!

I hadn’t heard this EP before, sounds like the descending bass lines John Lennon was fond of using. Your playing is confident and soulful, very enjoyable.

Hi Scott, what a great listening this was! Nice combination of licks, and really “story telling” melodic too. Some great “crying” bends, and lots of feeling. I enjoyed it a lot!
