        Hi AM friends!
So happy to be back to the challenges after a 2-months break… Apologies but I needed this time to catch up a lot of Brian’s EPs and MLs and to really figure out how to organize my guitar practice… now I think I’ve found a way, hopefully 🙂
As for this challenge, I borrowed a lick from the solo of “Tie your mother down” by Queen and played it, or something inspired, in a complete different context on the backing track of EP636. The first round of improvisation is using Brian’s melody, while round 2 and 3 experimenting the lick by the other Brian (May).
As always time for rehearsal was little, so this is very unpolished, but you can at least grasp the idea behind.
Enjoy the weekend and the challenge 🙂
        Serena

PS: I’m also posting the Queen video below mine, you can find the lick at minute 2:00

If I wasn't making mistakes I wouldn't be the kind of player I want to be. Perfection is dangerous.
It's all about taking risks, sometimes you get to some place, sometimes you get to a different place. (Brian May)

Thanks for the reference to the Queen video. I see the inspired lick that you were incorporating. Nicely done.

Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

Somehow I had a feeling you’d borrow a lick from Brian May. 😁 I thought you played very nicely. It was a pretty quick tempo with lots of notes too.

Nice mix of Queen and you.
              Well done.

Well done, Serena. Your plan as to how to practice seems to bear fruits already. Your performance was rock-!-solid.

Nicely done, Serena. Working in licks from both Brian’s is a great idea.

Nicely done, Serena! Good to know that you’ve been reorganizing your guitar practice and found a way that works. I’m still working on mine since my effective practice time has shrunk to a minimum lately. Great idea to borrow a lick from your guitar hero, it must have been a joy to work on that. Polished or not, your presentation was great 👍

Way to jam on a pretty fast song, Serena! Good idea to borrow a lick from Brian May, not something I would have thought of. If there were any unpolished bits there, they were really very minor and not noticeable to most people. Nice!
