Continuing my concentration on songs. This was a great lesson, though I used it more as a jumping off point for some ideas, and I think I only quote a couple of things from the lesson itself. But quite a bit of the other stuff in this is my rehashing of things picked up from Brian. Hope you like.

Duffy that was beautifully played. Loved the gentle playing approach with loads of feeling and the singing was top notch. Really professional level.

I think so it should be; pulling elements out of the lesson and creating something of your own. This time I was surprised when it was over; So much did you take me on your track. You always deliver a complete package. Great! Fortunately, there are musicians who only play the guitar and do not sing; otherwise I would have to think if I have the right hobby.
Greatest respect Duffy!Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Nicely played and sung
It’s nice to see how AM members progress and apply the stuff they pick up on the way, well done.

Yes, that’s a classic song. Both your guitar play and singing add a lot of feeling to it. Great job.

I got excited just to see my favorite lesson on your title 😊 Of course, I loved the intro and solo and everything in between, and the incredibly soulful vocals. Man, you can play and you can sing, what a gift!

Just superb, Duffy!
Both singing and plying were outstanding. I’ve studied this song and your version stands on it’s own.

Loved the intro Duffy, and your fills and solo are superb. I think in the key of A though it put the vocals at the lower register of your range. I know transcribing to another key is hard, but for someone who knows his way around the fret board like you do it might not be that hard. Bringing it up a step or two would allow your excellent voice even more expression to tell the ‘sad sad story’ of this classic song.

Excellent point about the vocal range. I played this on my Baritone a little, which is tuned down a fourth. That put the accompanyment too low, and my voice just a bit too high (a fifth up). I should just use a capo, but for whatever reason, it never occurs to me to do that.

Duffy you get points for just memorizing the lyrics…..but that was the essence of the blues. Soulful playing and heart felt singing….Bravo! Dim the house lights, Duffy is here and ready to do some blues…..

Duffy, that was beautifully executed all the way around. Both your vocals and playing were super soulful. I had to listen more than once!
