Dear AMers – for this month’s challenge, I decided to get ‘the Band’ back together 😂 as I haven’t done this in quite a while 😎
I began by recording the rhythm guitar, and hadn’t noticed until I’d finish this track that I kept adding an extra beat in the quieter section – going from 4/4 to 5/4 time 😲. It wasn’t intentional, it just sounded “right” to my ears, so I decided to stick with it. Never let it be said that I made life easy for myself 🤣🤣
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my submission and I look forward to hearing the variety of challenge responses for this month

Very classy turn around which you actually start off with, has a jazz fusion feel to it. You must have put a lot of time into putting it all together and can be very pleased with the result.

Excellent composition, very creative and lovely to listen to, Mark! Also the time changing to 5/4, although unintentional was a nice classy touch, in a pure jazz style! Congratulations to al the Marks involved in the rendition 😅 , very classy players!

The ‘Marks Brothers Band’ is sounding better than ever. Great job all around, Mark. Love the tune and all the instruments are tight and playing as one.

Love the skill with which you played all parts and really enjoyed your composition.
I was just listening to a video about how John Lennon commonly added beats to his measures. You’re in pretty good company,

Hi Mark, really great groove! This must have been a lot of work to get the videos coordinated and mixed. Really well done!

My hat’s off to you Mark. I know how much work that must have been to pull all those pieces together. But you did it and should be proud because it was awseome!

Mark,
Well coordinated and performed. Impressive! You played each part with authority and taste. Your rhythm section created a nice groove so that lead guitarist could do his thing. Fantastic lead. I am so glad the band got back together. Kudos to you. I hope the band stays together and does another performance. 😎John

Wow Mark! You must have had fun with this one. The only thing about using a band is that now you will have to split the profits with the other band members. Well played, guys!

My drums are in my closet. I need to pull them out again and do some jams. This is quite the full band and I am inspired.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

Great composition! I like the chord progression and melody that’s going on. And I like these stops in-between. Great licks.
You played all the instruments skillfully and I am amazed that you play drums and bass guitar.
You need lots of skills not only to play all the instruments but also to edit and mix all the tracks in your DAW and Video.
The rec quality is very good, too.
Bravo, Mark.More Blues!

Thank you so much, Mark, for bringing the band back together. That was a great performance, and it’s impressive that you played all the instruments yourself.
Thank you, Werner

What a band. What an arrangement …. uplifting and a sound of celebration. I know we can all appreciate how much work went into behind the scenes, from the arrangement to the video/recording. I remember when you took up the drums, such a skill you have acquired.

I have arrived at a new appreciation of how hard it is to do something like this. Bravo! The drums add a measure of difficulty I can’t even fathom.
The music itself was captivating. I am surprised you picked the tele with a pick and the acoustic with your fingers. The timing on this was tricky, too, especially for a multi-track endeavor. You made it work,

What a great composition, Mark – I love the chill vibe of it! So very skillfully put together, a great testament to the saying that “if it sounds right, then it’s right!”. Recording and mixing all the instruments together – including drums! – can’t be an easy task, my hat’s off to you! Bravo!
