Have you tried iTunes? If you’re just looking for something to play along with on your computer – try YouTube – you can always find songs (even obscure ones) there. There are also tricks to downloading YouTube videos to your computer so that you can save them for offline viewing, if you’re interested I can show you how.

The Eagles perform How Long on youtube. There are about 6 that I can see. Live and as an Audio track.
Not sure if you are looking for a backing track, which are a bit harder to find, But if I cant find a backing track I usually go to Youtube and look up the Artist and the name of the song with the word Kareoke at the end of it..
They just strip the words off and play just rhythm..

Here is one Kareoke from Youtube:

                        And Full songs

Maybe you can’t see them because they banned them for where you live..

                            Hey! Nice tip, thanks

The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete

It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

I hope this isn’t a dead topic now because I have a great site for backing tracks. Also has 2 versions of “How Long” as performed by the Eagles. Straker is right too. How Long was written & performed by Paul Carrack when he was a member of the band ACE in 1974. He went on to replace Jools Holland on keyboards & vocals with U.K. band, Squeeze, then he was the vocalist in Mike & The Mechanics. A great singer & sometimes called the man with the golden tonsils. Paul also began writing for the Eagles back in 1994 for the Hell Freezes Over album & a pretty well known song, sung by Timothy B. Schmit is “Love Will Keep Us Alive.
You’ll find the site here for Backing Tracks: http://www.guitarbackingtrack.com/

You might find this site useful too Brian for some of your lessons.

Hey Mow, thanks for posting the site. It is probably on the only site one needs. I use it often. Great site.

                                  Hi,

Hope this isn’t too late but it follows up on what Brian posted regarding YouTube and Downloads. There is an easy way to do it and and I’m *pretty sure* it’s ‘legal’ and it works with Firefox and IE Browsers, don’t know about any of the others.

                                  1) Set RealPlayer as your default Video and mp3 player.
                                  2) From the RealPlayer website download the ‘RealPlayer Download Plugin’ (w/ FireFox this goes to your Plugins)
                                  3) Then download the ‘RealPlayer Browsser Record Plugin’ (w/ FireFox this wlil be an Extension)

After doing this when you go to YouTube and click any Video, a Silver Popup Menu will appear on the upper right hand corner of the video: ‘Download This Video’. If you click it the Video starts to download and the default setting puts it into your RealPlayer folder on your HD – you can change the location as you wish. Then after the Video is downloaded another Real Player popup Menus appears so you can convert the the video file to an mp3 file and save that anywhere, like My Music.

If this seems too complicated FireFox has an Add-On Extension called: ‘Download Helper’. It does the same vid download and conversion as Real Player and works after FireFox Browser Updates (the Real Player apps don’t work after some FF Browser updates so this app is always handy).

Hope this info helps. And again pretty sure legal if its just for your own use. Can’t see RealPlayer knowingly violating any laws.
