I have tried to go through these lessons, but the video hangs and skips terribly. Anybody else have problem with this set of videos? I don’t have any problems with the regular weekly lessons

I think you’re referring to the audio stuttering and getting out of sync after 10 seconds or so, correct? I also experience that. I’m running Macs.

I noticed that the problem occurs with the earlier lessons that are published for the Vimeo format (as opposed to the YouTube ones which work fine).

There is a workaround. Let it run for a few seconds. When it starts glitching drag the time slider back to the beginning and restart from there. It will play fine all the way through after that.

Putting on my IT hat, it looks like a classic buffer problem to me. Just rewinding back to the beginning allows the remote server enough time to load sufficient data in memory. That’s where I’d start looking if I had to debug it.

I think you are totally correct. Vimeo is supposed to provide a higher quality video and audio for all us music lovers out there, but that means more bits of data per second are spewing our way. Most of the time the Vimeo lessons work fine on my Mac, but once in a while I’ve had them bog down a bit. A few years back the entire country of New Zealand converted to fiber optic broadband, and it’s worked much better since then.

Thanks all. I have tried the fixes suggested but they did not work. I have been able to solve the issue by using Opera as the browser. Safari hangs and Chrome will not play at all.

This course buffers on my phone, so I dread to think what it is like on PC or mac.
I’ll check it on my PC in a bit and if it buffers there to then I’ll fire an email to Brian and hopefully there is a fix to this issue..
