Hi
Had a few ideas for the melody, but never had enough time to add some more licks. Tried to use the song as a basis to drive the melody. Used C maj pentatonic. Didnt give much thought to the Bb, as the scale seemed to sound relatively good over the progression. Thanks

Yeh, you can stay totally within the Cmaj pent as long as you don’t land on a bad note when the Bb comes around. I just looped a Bb and played the Cmaj pent scale over it to see what worked. Some AM theory gurus would just automatically know that, but I’m a slow learner. Well played!

Good start Bernard…listening to this Bernard it develops nicely… you can play! I find that by the time I get my piece finished and recored I could have not a lot more with it. Not a problem, you laid nice groundwork for more to come! Thanks for sharing.

Some really cool melodic lines Bernard. Very relaxed feel to the whole composition. Really mellow sound to your guitar also. Well done!

Very Nice Bernard, a nice balance of silence and licks, bends are fine.

Nice Bernard! Smooth and yes to C Major Pentatonic. Over the Bb, I went with chord tones – the Root, the 3rd and 5th which worked in my pea brain. The KISS method for me – LOL! Smooth playing and you definitely got chops my friend! Bob

You have a good ear for melody, Bernard. Your playing was very pleasant to the ear and the notes worked perfectly. Good observation about the scale and the B flat chord – it’s kind of what I thought including what Steve said above.
Your submission came in a bit late so you may not see a comment from Brian but I think you made it just in time to be included in the consolidation post which will be done by one of our finest members, Don D, soon. 🙂

Hi JoLa
No worries whatsoever. Thanks for the feedback.
Started to late and then had issues adding a video.

Hi Bernard, this sounds great!
I’m having trouble accessing the SoundCloud URL to add it to the Consolidated posts because of the privacy settings. Because I can edit later I’m going to include a placeholder for it.
I sent you a friend request so we can send each other messages. If you’ll accept my friend request and message the URL to me, broken something like the one below, I’ll be able to add it later. Thanks very much, I don’t want to leave this out, it’s good!

Space after the two slashes and around the “dot” (period), thanks!
