        Hello everyone.
Time was not on my side for this challenge. But while I was out of town I was thinking about a video I saw a few months ago about a R&B group that took 2 chords, 3 beats, and turned it into a number 1 hit. It stayed at number 1 for 4 weeks back in 1969. The chords, G and C ( 1 to the 4 ). I thought this would be a eazy and quick record, but to make it sound right it did take more time than I expected. Mostly in getting the right tone and of course timing. But I did want to but something out this month…. In the spirit of Active Melody I played some opening licks to kick it off, then went into the song….Everyday people. By Sly and the family stone. By know means I would consider this a cover, it’s just a good example of what can be done with only 2 chords. It is also a good example of what a unsupervised old man is doing in the basement.

        As always thank you
        for listening.

Well done Scott. A lot of folks used a looper to get the job done. Your not alone with the “no time” thing. I’m still working on my submission and just started on Friday. I’m just going to wing it this time and cheat by using a two chord backing track.

Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

I love this. I enjoy edthe main motif/melody. I like that you just grabbed the Different Strokes thing and ran with it. Hey, there’s never enough time. Job well done, and a great listen.

Nicely played Scott. I definitely heard Everyday People.

Great stuff! Nice use of the looper pedal!

Nice showcase of all the great melodies in that song, and equally great reminder so much can be done with a simple loop. Wonderful!

Nice job, Scott. Two chords and a familiar melody makes for a fun submission.

Great stuff, Scott. Lots to like here. I don’t know the song but it made a great submission.

Well done, Scott. I must have heard the Everyday People song because your riffs sounded familiar. Only two chords – and so much music can be made.

Great idea, Scott. That’s one of my all-time favorite songs, and it was really cool to hear your interpretation of it.
