Well, I found this one tough. My plan was to play the two chords and apply some “fills” and movement. It’s something I’d like to be better at in my rhythm playing. Most of my ideas are from previous ActiveMelody EPs – so hoping I’m actually putting use to what I’m learning.
…fun game – see if you notice where my timing went off by a beat 😛

This is wonderful… my kind of guitar arrangement. I love the Hendrix(y) licks and the arpeggios at around 1:00-1:07. Linking chord voicings together with licks, riffs and solos is the epitome of guitar arrangement/playing. I did something similar but to a backing track. Please check mine out and let me know what you think. Thank you for your inspiration. Great stuff!John

Awesome work wpb. Solid performance with well placed tasteful phrases.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

I like the idea to play chords with fills. You used all the CAGED shapes. With this you are a Brian’s A student.
Some nice licks, especially these double stops.
Well done.More Blues!

That sounds really great. Your transitions are just perfect and so varied.

If you messed up the timing I didn’t hear it…this was superb…reminded me of The Stones “Can’t Always Get What You Want”.

Well, I would say this went according to plan, didn’t it? I think this is sounding very coherent andclean. In fact, I didn’t notice were you went off beat!

Well played and constructed, WPB. Really nice fills you worked in between the chords.

That sounded great – cool fills and a driving Stones-type rhythm, and a perfect tone. What’s not to like. I think you’re trying to fool us all about missing a beat.

Not only it sounded great but also – what a great exercise for lead playing! It was my initial idea to go with some rhythm and licks arrangement but it proved to be too much, therefore I appreciate your presentation even more! And if you skipped a beat, I couldn’t tell. There was a good amount of variety to the licks you played, I feel like it was a good I-IV transitions study. You are Brian’s A+ student, indeed.

At 1:28 an extra beat crept in, but since it was approaching the outro, most people would never notice it. Very cool idea to connect the chords with fill licks in multiple neighborhoods of the fretboard.
