Chords are A Major and B Minor.
My first reaction to this month’s challenge was gee this is not very interesting or exciting (shame on me). I started with trying to do something with a minor 1 and 4 chord and playing my usual boring stuff. Didn’t like that at all. Then I stumbled across the 1 and 2 chords of A, and played a hodge podge of anything and everything trying to do something different. Lot’s of bits and pieces and ended up with this. This turned out to be a lot of fun and I learned a bunch. Kudos to Brian for this type of challenge.

Excellent David! I’m with you on the thinking for this challenge. Simply because two chords don’t give us a lot we start looking for ways to be creative and more musical. Finding those triad harmonies, for instance, or really visualizing the scale around the chords, etc. And look what sticking with that does! Really enjoyed your composition.

Great work David. Simple is awesome as it gets into your soul.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

David, you have found some beautiful melodies between those two chords! A bit of jazz and a bit of Hawaiian vibe matching your shirt (coincidence?) 😉 What you felt about the challenge at the beginning is often what I think too but then I realize Brian’s brilliant mind as I dig deeper into it. I guess that’s why the challenges are so good for our learning 🙂

The best challenges are the ones that push us to keep going until we find something that fascinates and appeals to us. And then we hope that everyone else likes it, too. And that’s definitely true for your submission, David. Great vibe and a fantastic melodic motif. I definitely liked it!

Nice on David! I like the double stop harmonies you played and the triad inversions too. Lots of ideas around two chords to be found!
