Hi Fellow Amer’s, I have rushed this one together today to complete it as I did not want to waste the effort. Using ep239 backing track and the idea of a riff as the driving rhythm, it organically came together, completely different from the lesson. Using only the open E and A chords, a double stop and single notes, here it is.

Nice submission, Laurel – had a kind of Duane Eddy feel to it, to my ears at least. – Mark 👍🎶😎

Well done Laurel-very 60s-ish and I love it. I enjoy your use of tremolo/vibrato and reverb. You are becoming more confident and adventurous in you guitar play, exploration of the fretboard and in generating good sounding guitar music. Love this and a great listen.

Got the tremolo effect going on and worked an E and E7 in with the A chord. Nicely done.

Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

This was so good Laurel. It reminded me a little of The Hollies “Long Cool Woman (In a Black Dress)).

Great submission – excellent steady rhythm!

Awesome bluesy-surfy riffs! 😎 I like the overall groove, and how all the guitar layers interact.

Very nice, Laurel. Great sound from your Tele. It had a bit of an experimental flare to it, but in a very positive sense.

Nice job working those phrases into the backing track and make it your own composition, Laurel.

Glad you made it just in time, Laurel!
It was worth the effort for sure, sounded good. I like how you combine multiple guitar layers in your compositions. This one had that surf-like twang you seem to lean towards. Two chords only seem to work well with many styles of music, don’t they?

I was also reminded of the Duane Eddy sound. There were some great riffs of your own in there and they fitted perfectly. The layering of guitar parts worked well – great submission.

Great idea, Laurel. I also got the surf music vibe. You could build on this and turn it into a complete 3- minute song.
