Hello friends in this video i went with one of my favorite local artist from down here in New Orleans, Fats Domino, Blueberry Hill and used one of the greatest lessons I’ve learned from Brian and that is to play vocal melodies on guitar, I used no backing track to create silence, this song has tons of piano and horns, but I did the best I could to arrange it with just one guitar, hope yall enjoy!

Sweet. Nice and with plenty of space.

You do right to give the thumbs up, Wayne. That was brilliant. By coincidence I was listening to a piano version of Blueberry Hill earlier today and didn’t like it much without Fats (one of my heroes) singing on it. Your arrangement was perfect – I could almost hear him singing with you – those two up and down slides were perfect – just how he sings. The whole piece was so tasteful, the single bass notes were placed perfectly and the playing and tone were spot on. Bravo. In fact, encore, I’m going to play it again!

Well played Wayne, that was a beautiful rendition of that iconic song. Your melody notes and fills were precise and solid, altogether very enjoyable.

Nice arrangement Wayne. Which lesson was it that Brian talk about the playing the singers voice? I’ll have to look that one over. I’m a big fan of that technique as well. It’s also really good for ear training to just pick out just about any melody you can think of as well.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

Awesome arrangement Wayne.
Plenty of silences.
I used to play that song when I was playing in a band in my early days.AndréM
