Hi!
I enjoyed this month’s challenge a lot – even if it is a simple melody, there’s so much you can try with it. I struggled into getting a fingerstyle composition but I wasn’t able to finish it. I have 2 other versions, though.
Here goes an acoustic version recorded with my son Biel at the ukelele, we hope you enjoy it!
I also recorded a slow electric track:

The slow electric track is just lovely. Your son definitely has some music in his genes. How cool that you can play together.

Strange tone on your slow electric version, it sounds sometime like a xylophone
Both version nice.Where does the white go when snow melts?

Great the family version, I had started on a similar idea, with my son on bass, but he left before we could record a convincing version 😉 The electric version is terrible.

A young star in the making and an old star hard at it. I enjoyed both.

Both versions were quite distinct from each other and very pleasing to listen to. My wife has taken up playing ukulele and it’s great fun jamming together. Her father plays keyboards and most weeks we have a full on jamming session with a playlist of 20 songs and counting. Her uke is a French made electro-acoustic model and sounds great through an acoustic amp.

I love that you get to share that with your son, Jaime. Mine has grown up and moved out and watching your video brings back fond memories of us playing together years ago. Thank you.

I can only agree, Jaime, the numbers of different interpretations is limitless. I was also thinking about a Rock-version, but for that there was not enough time. Great though, that you get to play with your son. He was spot on and I particularly liked the little break he threw in.

So great you get to play with your son, you both were fantastic! It’s a such a pleasure to watch kids play like that, I wish mine was into music. The electric guitar version was also sweet and beautifully played, as usual when you’re playing, Jaime. But of course, I enjoyed the first one more with your son stealing the spotlight 😉
P.S. I would love to hear your fingerstyle version if you ever finish it.

Very cool, Jaime. I think your son might end up someday being a better musician than you are. He definitely has good showmanship, and plays the uke with total confidence.

Once again the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. What a blessing to share your skill and love for music with your son.

Your son has a great sense of rhythm which some kids/adults find difficult so he’s well on the way … Yes fantastic that you can both play together, a beautiful thing! Enjoyed both takes. Both different but that is the whole idea of the challenge. All the best!

Enjoyed both. You took the back seat for the first video and let your son take the stage. He has inherent style and rhythm. You promised us a duet and we got it, well done to both of you. The electric version was sophisticated and top notch as expected.

Fantastic! I love it & Biel has a great rhythm and a fab strumming pattern there! It felt like a really ‘true to the roots’ version & I loved everything about it.

That’s great you play with your son, looks like you both really enjoy it and sound great. Bit jealous tbh neither of my 2 daughters have any interest in music.

Loved it!!! Biel was THE STAR in Vid 1 and you my friend are the STAR in vid 2!!! I played a Christmas gig with my son once when he was 9 years old. He plays the sax. And when we did SANTA CLUASE IS COMING TO TOWN a la The Boss style, he received the biggest applause all night!! The little sh*t – LOL!!! Good on ya including Biel. Loved both tapes. Bob

Totally refresh, Jaim. A great idea to let your son participate. Thumbs up!
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

That must be great to play together as a family, never managed to convince any of mine to join me!
Enjoyed both but if you forced me to pick, I’d have to go for the electric version, loved the feel and tone of that version. Well arranged and played! -
