Jontavious Willis released his new album, WEST GEORGIA BLUES, on August 16.
It’s been five years since his last album, and it’s worth the wait. Fifteen original songs were recorded at Capricorn Sound Studios and Museum in Macon, Georgia. Jontavious said, “It was awesome to record in Georgia with people that love the blues just as much as I do.”
Jontavious sings and plays guitars; joining him on some songs were Jayy Hopp (guitars, drums, washtub drum, vocals), Ethan Leinwand (piano, Wurlitzer), Rodrigo Mantovani (bass), Jon Atkinson (guitar on “A Lift Is All I Need”), Lloyd Buchanan (vocal on “West Georgia Blues”).
He’ll be touring soon.
