Have been encouraged by others to post here, so thought I’d share a short video of me leading a song at a camping weekend hosted by the music club my wife and I are involved in.
I’m more a fingerstyle player than a strummer, yet when in a group situation I strum a lot just to be heard.
Been playing for 15 years, almost exclusively acoustic and just love the chance every day to pick up my guitar and play and sing. Fun fun fun.
I joined active melody to advance my soloing chops. Have been obsessing over triads recently and ML-147 really grabbed me.
Based in Northern New South Wales in Australia living a very short walk from some magnificent beaches. Life is good down under.

Great to see fellow Aussies singing a classic! I hope there’s a shrimp on the barbie and a few cold cans of something in the eskies. Welcome Tony! 😎🎸😎

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, join a music club, best think I ever did. We’ve made lifelong friends through our time at the music club, it’s turned into as much of a social club as a music club, especially once we started facilitating the camping weekends. Fun fun fun

Looks like great fun, Tony. You’ll be dazzling the other guitar pickers with your cool fills and solos gleaned from Brian’s lessons.

Thanks James. Got a lot of practice to do before those fills get used in my weekly Men’s shed jam. Yesterday though, I played my first public solo. Some one had noticed I’d been soloing on songs I didn’t know quietly while they played and then one a song I knew and the call out came for solos, my name was called. Instant panic. Got into it, realized I was playing G# instead of G, quickly corrected and did ok.
The cool think was through other songs my triad obsession is starting to pay off. While playing major pentatonic I realized halfway through that I knew exactly where the chord tones and the tonic are, now to memorize more clearly which of the other chord tones are the 3rd and 5th.
