The guy who brought the electric guitar into its own as a solo and pushed the boundaries of the music of the time.

There’s a couple lessons out there detailing his solo on “Pagin’ The Devil”, if you want to learn some outside the box sounds and a cool diminished run, check it out!
Like later musical luminaries, he died all too young but left behind a tremendous legacy that seems to grow every year.
That’s how to play guitar, superb phrasing. My first guitar tutors, back in the day, were modern jazz players and then I listened and wowed at the holy trio, Wes Montgomery, Barney Kessel and of course, Charlie Christian.
These were the players we all looked up to, and listening to Swing to Bop, we know all the reasons why.
