My wife and I usually take a long weekend before Christmas and visit an unfamiliar city or place. This year we are doing Nashville TN. My brother suggested “Third and Lindsley” as a great place to see live music and have a pop. Other than that, does anybody have any suggestions? Would love to hear what anybody has to say. We will definitely look into the Ryman (whether for a show or just sight-seeing). Actually, looking for those great little dive bars with great music that are under the radar.

George Grunn Guitars are quite the music store but I have never been. JohnStrat

            John,
I was there about 15 mos ago. I actually met up with another AM member and we had a great time. We got to see Joe Bonamassa at the Ryman. We had an even better time the next night at the Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar on a little street called Printers Alley, just off the main downtown street, Broadway. It’s a little 2 story bar, you can even reserve a table for a gumbo dinner. The live acts start in the late afternoon and continue until late in the evening. Each act gets better and better. Man that place was jumping and the draft was going down really easy. Check the venue out on the internet. I’ve recommended it to any of my colleagues that have since gone to Nashville and everybody has loved it.

Thanks John for the heads up. I will look into the Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar. I noticed a lot of acts start during the day. I like that the place was jumping and the draft was going down easy. I appreciate the suggestion.

We went a couple of years ago and were blown away by all the places on Broadway. Walk down the street and pick a place where the music just grabs you. You are in for a Christmas treat!

Sounds like a plan Mike. That’s what I was thinking we would do… I kind of like not having a plan.

Have a great time, John! Just seeing this. Will be interested to hear how your trip went. I am sure you will have a blast! Never been, but have talked to people that have gone and have heard everywhere you go there is live music.

Just saw this. You’re in Nashville now, but there might still be time to reserve a table at the Bluebird Cafe. See who’s playing at City Winery.
