Hello AM’rs
Here we go for our February challenge. I chose EP629 in the key of D because I want to zero in on where we find the flat 3rd’s, the blue notes and the flat 7th’s of this piece of music and Brian explains this stuff so well.
I find one of the most important and most helpful things for me is that it’s imperative to know the format of the piece and when the next chord is coming BEFORE you get to it.
I like these chromatic runs too.
It’s also helpful to play this EP629 up the neck in different keys as well.PS I too wqnt to say kudos toJoLa for completing those 100 challenges, that is absolutely amazing.

Awesome, Paddy! Played with emotion, and great touch. Sounds great on that acoustic guitar. Nice spacing between notes, super dynamics, and that’s one low down blues!

Paddyboy, thanks for the kudos ☺️ I am truly amazed how well you sound these days, you have also come a long way! I think we both joined AM about the same time in 2017 🙂 I agree with you on trying to understand the music instead of just memorizing it, I also try to do that to a certain degree. This was a great choice and excellent acoustic solo rendition! Keep them coming!

I like your own composition on the basis of Brian’s lesson.
And the acoustic guitar sounds great with the track.
Very skillfully played with much bluesy feel.More Blues!

You have made this lesson sound great on the acoustic. Bringing it more to life. You play this so well Paddy, I could have to listen to this for longer, it was so good. In fact, I will just play again.

Another 629 fan. I definitely can’t get enough of it, because every version is different. But your acoustic version, Paddyboy, really stands out.

Nice work with this lesson , very concise and smoothly executed .
Im with you on the format study it’s so important, and it’s all to easy to just memorise the lesson and not capture the detail.
Well played.Martin
