I don’t know how you do it Barry, to pack all that in to such a short video and make it all make sense. Great demo and explanation of the progression. Plus those are great blues licks.

Root note patterns >>> CAGED shapes >>> TRIAD'S. Just put in the work and watch your guitar skills soar.

Thanks Mike. I have never taught guitar – I consider myself a student. I just find a topic that interests and break it down to the parts that appeal to me and that I want to add to my playing. For instance, in Brian’s video I look for a phrase or concept I find interesting and figure out how to apply it to other situations.

I feel that if I can apply it to other situations and am able to explain it then I really know it and it sinks in. If I just learn a composition all the way through I might be able to play it but after a while I find that I forget what I learned. Doing these videos makes me learn, execute and understand why these ideas work. I feel that it is really improving my playing by doing it and keeps me motivated to learn new things.
