I started to practice this very nice lesson when it came out, then for some reasons I dropped out it.

But recently I started again to practice it and my goal was to play the lesson as best as I can, trying also to get out a decent tone from my Strat (since long time I’ve been using only amp sims and plugin effects in my computer).

For the recording, I lost the count of takes and there were always some small or big mistakes, in different positions in the song.

So I took the last one which was the best, but with 2 small mistakes (semi muted notes) and 1 clear mistake and just rerecorded 3 small fragments (punch-in / punch-out). The big mistake was at 01:08 where I play the harmonized sixth on the 8th fret instead of the 9th (you can notice it in the video).

For a perfect take without post-editing, I still have to improve😅!

That was very good Guido. The tone was great too. As for mistakes…we’re all human so give yourself a break! 😉

Hey Guido that was very nicely played.
Tone was great, didn’t hear any mistakes.
I remember doing this one for a challenge.

This is terrific, Guido. Tone is spot-on for this, and I heard no mistakes. I agree with Joe – just have fun making music. We all make mistakes. Its part of being human.

Sounds terrific Guido but, of course, we always hear our own mistakes more than the listeners 😝. Clearly, your attention to getting this perfect paid off well even if you don’t think so.

PS : Personally, I find it hard getting the tone I want from a strat. They are great guitars but i find myself setting the tone control quite low otherwise the treble clangs on my ear. You got that just right with this so congrats on that 😄

Thanks Geoff! Among the plugins I use, the equalizer is the Fast Balancer by Focusrite, given for free with the interface, which has 3 simple options for vocals or guitars: warm, neutral, bright. And for the Strat I always choose, of course, WARM, for balancing the extreme brightness of the guitar.

Interesting Guido. Accounts for the nice sound you get.

Great job on this Guido, it sounds really good. Some of the licks have some tricky timing involved. The trick is to know exactly which beat each one starts on. That’s pretty much true for any lick, but especially on this composition.

Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

A Brian classic lesson here Guido, great choice! And very well played. Spot on bends and oodles of expressive playing. Tone sounded fantastic. Personally I like the sound of the guitar going into the amp and press record. Maybe I’m a bit lazy and don’t want to hassle with the computer with virtual amps and effects but I’d prefer the live sound of the guitar/amp and a stomp box or two. Re: Recording. I hear you! Take after take after take. We’re all looking for the best one. One average I reckon I press record and play for about an hour each time I record a video before I’m happy. Hope you’re doing okay! All the best! 😎🎸😎

                          Hey Guido,

                          Sounded pretty good to me.

That’s a lot of techniques and shapes to throw into a couple of minutes of playing and I thought you did a great job with it.

Personally I didn’t hear any mistakes.

I’ve also been using amp cabs and sims for years now to record – I’ve forgotten what my actual amp even sounds like!

                          Well done.

                          Liam.

Well played with a silky-smooth tone Guido, whatever mistake you made was not evident to me. Sounded good.

The perfect take is elusive, Guido, not sure I’ve ever had one.
You played that beautifully with a great amp tone. I couldn’t even notice the punch-ins, maybe those were perfect😉.

Ah caro Guido!!!!!!I know exactly what you mean!I don’t know if this happens to you but after 4 years of recording myself, whenever I play the record button,my heart beats faster and I feel like I cant control my hands and of course I make endless mistakes so in the end I choose the one with the fewest ones🤣🤣🤣Your playing sounded great to me because the dynamics were skillful and the tone was wonderful! So you should feel proud of it!!!
Funny comment:I have turned to the acoustic guitar and you to the electric one🤣🤣Have we switched roles???
