Nicely played Glen, you set the groove going and impressively didn’t waver from the outset. I enjoyed the tone from your Wide Sky, a make I’m not familiar with, but sounded just right for that style of solo blues.

Hey Richard! I appreciate your kind words. Wide Sky is a small builder based in Hawaii. I met him at the NAMM show in 2018 and ordered one on the spot. It’s based on a 1930 Gibson L1. I love it!

Beautifully played Glen and you look really comfortable with that guitar.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

You were in the pocket Glen. I liked the way you ended it getting muted and quiet.

Thanks, Joe! Yeah, it was fun to bring things to a quiet, muted finish. I like that kind of ending.

Thanks so much, Andre! Hey, any comparison to David Hamburger is just fine by me. He’s just about my favorite fingerstyle blues player out there. Cheers!!

Hey Denise!! Thanks for taking a peek. Yeah, I noticed that Brian has one of the Wide Sky electric guitars ( model PL125) Here’s a piece of Wide Sky trivia for you. The guitar in my video is #30 of 39 he ever made of that particular acoustic model. Patch Rubin (Wide Sky luthier/owner) made one of his electrics for Gary Clark Jr. around the same time he made mine (2018). Clark played it at one of Clapton’s Crossroads Festivals and apparently many, many people wanted to know more about this cool guitar. The demand became so great that Patch decided to discontinue the acoustic model in my video to focus solely on his electric guitars, namely the model that Brian owns. As of last year, Patch has a 1 1/2 year backlog to get one. So happy for Patch. He is the nicest guy. Cheers and happy playing, Denise

I really enjoyed that Glen. Yeah, great acoustic standalone playing, tight rhythmic work and fills but still had the bluesy feel for sure. Beautiful guitar with a really cool sound. Thanks for sharing. All the best! 😎🎸😎

Great playing, Glenn! That guitar sounds great and looks really cool. Would you classify it as a parlor guitar? It looks pretty small.

Hey Larry! Thanks for watching. The Wide Sky PL1 is based on a 1930 Gibson L1. It’s essentially the guitar that Robert Johnson is holding in the famous photo with his suit and tilted hat. Not sure if it’s considered a parlor guitar, but the soundboard footprint is definitely in that single O/OO size. And it’s got a deep body (4 1/4″) like the “NIck Lucas era” Gibsons. I love it!!

Hey Mike!! I really appreciate your kind words. Yeah, I really love that guitar!! Thinking about ordering one of his electrics (P125), like the one Brian owns and plays on some of the lesson videos here. Cheers!!!

Fantastic playing sir.
Some nifty techniques in this one and I loved the palm mute finish.
Never heard of wide sky but the guitar looks and sounds the business.
