Hi everyone, I’m just starting in on my fourth year as a member so I thought I’d give this one a shot. Its got mistakes and is kind of sloppy but I’m ok with that. Two years ago I had zero fingerstyle skills until EP153 came up as a monthly challenge, it felt initially like I was playing with someone else’s fingers and it took me the whole month to be able to do the first part of the lesson but I had made progress so I made a point of working some fingerstyle into my regular practice. My goal was to eventually be able to pickup a guitar and have fun noodling around with some fingerstyle, slowly but surely I’ve gotten there. I’ve done the lesson and then put my take on the fill licks and threw on an improv at the end, drop D grooves are so much fun I can now easily get lost in it for hours. Looking forward my fourth year as a member!
        Thanks for watching.

Love it, Scott, especially the ending chuckle. Congratulations on your 4th year and all your amazing progress. I think I’m in your cohort and it’s been a pleasure to watch.

            Hey Scott,

That was great! Sounded really rhythmic and also keep the melody going keeping it interesting. Nice sound from your smaller guitar as well.

Some great fingerstyle Scott, loved the constant drone D Bass string, it gave the chordal melody a base to sit on, so to speak. Your two years of fingerstyle sounds as if it was well spent. Loved it….thanks.

Great going Scott, I remember this pretty gem of a lesson.. reminds me of spring opener ,, has a tint of Jimmy Page this acoustic style.. Drop D is also a favorite of many tunes I play even originals,, you keep at this ,you’ll find that you’ll want to be creative using open D tuning! very nice!

Very cool, Scott! You really look and sound like you know what you’re doing. I never learned that lesson because I was too lazy to tune my E string down…

As always, very cool Scott. I think you also played a little bit on your feelings; Great! I liked it. I also agree with John that Jimmy Page had some influence. Sometimes it’s just coincidence, but you played great! Well done.

Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone, so glad to be sticking with it and continuing to develop fingerstyle skills. The monthly challenge lesson that convinced me to keep working on the fingerstyle skills was EP142 not EP153 as I originally said. Thank you all again!!

Great playing, Scott! I love those old lessons, and I did this lesson too a couple of years ago and I remember that it was really difficult to play. Finally I can’t get it correctly anyway, but you did
                                  it excellent. Hats off!
