Hi members,
Great lesson with some cool licks and concepts.
I haven’t posted as many EP’s as in the past but I realize that lessons like this one can push me to the limits of my technique. I worked hard to get this up to full tempo. For Christmas I want some excess capacity in the speed domain.
Hope you enjoy.John

Yes, that’s a great lesson, excellently played, and a wonderfully warm sound.

Hey John, Nice work on that one! It seemed so easy when I first listened to Brian’s version, then I beat my head against the wall for over a week before getting somewhat ok with it. There was one run that I had to slow down to 50% for the timing! Fun to play mixo though and yes, it will get your alt picking speed perked up.
Merry Christmas,

Certainly pro-level John, it was refreshing to hear those melodic runs played so fluently. Cool post, many thanks for posting.
Merry Christmas John

Yes, I love that lesson, too. Great mixolydian sound. Wow, you really got that piece under your fingers. Great technique…it sounds perfect! Love the Strat tone. Now I want to learn that one, too.
Happy Christmas.

John,
Pro all the way, man what a tone and precise playing. You moved effortlessly over the entire fretboard. Smooth and Soulful.

Your tone is to die for John! 👏👏🌟👏👏. Excellent version of the lesson. You make it look so easy, your fingers glide over the fretboard all while playing with subtle dynamics and much expression. Thanks for being such an important part of this site and for being such an inspirational player. Happy holiday and all the best for 2026! 😎🎸😎

Good stuff! I especially that section in the middle (timestamp: 26-32 give or take a second). Juicy!
Trust the process.

Nicely done John. Tempo doesn’t seem to be a problem with this one. Your dynamics and tone in particular sound great. 👍

Fine playing John. A great arrangement that sounds in part like the Jerry Garcia tune “Deal”. You provide a nice combination of mixolydian and “out of the pocket ” licks. Sounds great!

That’s about as good as it gets right there. Superb result from all that hard work.
Go slow and practice correct technique, and your abilities will dramatically improve.

That sounds great. That one is on my list as well. Live these longer jam type solos where you’ve to work on your speed. Not easy

That was some silky smooth playing John. Your fingers knew exactly where they were going through all those relatively long licks. Great use of dynamics too. Must put this lesson on my list. Have a great Christmas

Wow, flawlessly played John, I would say at the same Brian’s pro level! I can see that this is “pushing tot the limits”: you need a great technique to play this piece so well at the original tempo! What can I say: superb rendition! Merry Christmas!

Pretty much a flawless flow all over the board John.
Given the speed you got this one out, and the accuracy of your execution, I’d hazard a guess and say that you are a very well versed student in the mixolydian discipline 😉
Tone was killer. I’m starting to consider giving the analog amp and mic another shot.
