That is one heck of a lesson that I haven’t even looked at until you posted this. There is a ton of great phrasing in this lesson that I need to add to the collection. You did pretty good on this Wayne, just a little flat on the initial bend from the 4th to 5th. We all need to work on that. I think Brian over bent it during the lesson explanation. The fast runs you did were outstanding, so you obviously put a lot of work into this. Well done.

Root note patterns >>> CAGED shapes >>> TRIAD'S. Just put in the work and watch your guitar skills soar.

Great stuff Wayne. I gave you a thumbs up on Youtube. This is a great study on ‘Dickie’ and you cover it well. No easy task. Fantastic melodic runs, bends and overall vibe.

One of my favourite lessons on AM, love the organ in a backing track. I think you modified the one lick that gave me a headache and you did it in a very pleasing way. Love your ad libs, they flowed really nicely.
Wayne, if you’re interested look up my video for some other ideas. You can find it by searching EP 404 and it’s on page 2. There are lots of covers of this lesson over the years. Looking back on this video I can see my pick stroke is far too wide, hopefully better now.

Nicely improvised Wayne. Loved it! I’ve gotta look this lesson up for myself now.

I could listen to this all day. You made it look effortless and it sounds great. Really well done!

Very nicely done indeed Wayne. Honestly, we could all nit pick over imperfections but, in my humble opinion, it hardly matters to the listener if we move over them quickly. I would not have noticed that slightly flat bend if someone hadn’t mentioned it.

Anyway, that aside. Fabulous performance Wayne 👍. One thing I like is you are doing longer videos now and that really shows you for the great player you are 😎

One of my favourite lessons too, posted my rendition here 2-3 years ago, slowing down a bit the tempo.

Your rendition is great because you played it very well in the original tempo and especially because of your own very tasty and melodic improvisation/variations in the second part: really enjoyed them very much!

My ear is very sensitive to that, but Wayne did great overall on this piece. All of us can learn a ton from that lesson. I have had it in my favorites for a long time, but never gone through the lesson all the way. After spending some time on this, I really appreciate the work involved to get this type of result. So many great licks and idea’s.

Well done Wayne, doesn’t look easy so your practice really shows, especially on that fast run. Sweet guitar as well!
