April 10, 2019 at 4:10 pm #130741Hello,
thank you for the useful tips. I did so and on Monday I bought a very fine used Lakewood M32 Custom in best condition for a moderate Price (new € 2.700)
My new friend is perfect fit for elegant and soulful Ballads, but not optimal for wild strumming or dirty Blues bends. (This job is reserved for my old Hoyer Dreadnought until it looks like Willie Nelsons battered “Trigger”) Installed is a Lakewood Sonic System from Shadow with one pick-up under the Bridge and another one under the fretboard. So it can be balanced between Piezo and magnetic pick-up. The Guitar has a direct sustain and there are a lot of opportunities, to create good sounds for different styles. (Its not particular my strong point)
Here my first Song with the new Guitar: EP 068 Country in Style of David Rawlings. I simplified the second part, because the 2 trills in one measure didn t work. The Sound of recording is not optimal, I must find a warmer setting.Dieter

April 10, 2019 at 8:55 pm #130754I wish I had that guitar. Amplified it still seems true to it’s original sound. I bet it sounds incredible without the pickups. Congrats on a special guitar.

April 11, 2019 at 6:11 am #130770Nice playing and nice guitar. The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete Pete

April 11, 2019 at 2:24 pm #130785That was excellent, really different sounding, the way the melody continued beyond what I would have thought the “targets” were. That must be what makes it David Rawling’s style. I liked the sound of your guitar, it had something like the sustain of an organ in it. Don D.
