Poor Skyla Burrell’s fingertips look like pain killers are needed for gangrene .. I been studying mostly theory at fretjam all day .. record day pouring rain glad it’s rain and not snow or we would have been buried! .. Anyway, yeah man, I am using my fingers for easy runs leaving out my index finger.. pretty interesting actually practicing and learning the difference between Natural / Harmonic / Melodic scales how to use them both minor major progressions.. Actually it seems a great lesson that correlates well with Brian’s most recent ep345 anyways, resting my little index finger today .. it feels too sore annoying to bother using today lol

My finger tips look similar after joining AM and increasing playing time…
The skin is so hard there that I have less feeling
But what can I do, guitar is more important 🙂Israel

Israel I read you , in the beginning I had obvious callus and even blisters.. but my fingers are conditioned nowadays, that is being righty, my fingertips are harder on my fret fingers than my picking hand.. just too much bending lately and scaling sliding over wound strings.. I just wanted to remind others it is normal, but to also take heed , when the body talks ,, listen.. I kept playing when I first felt the pinching in my finger tip and kept playing anyway..soreness can be avoided by just taking a few days rest and perhaps learning to practice something more delicate /not full stretching or pressing hard vibratos which is what is demanded in blues soloing lol
okay have a good one.. going to study my DAW read up on it get into it more enjoy!

I’m more concerned about my knuckles and arthritis (or something like that) than my fingertips. One of the things I like about flats beside the sound is they feel a lot better than rounds.
