        Although there are many flashier blues players I think Clapton is a major influence and inspiration for tasteful, accessible blues for all of us intermediate guitar players. Take the solo at 3:10, he’s still pretty smooth.

          Looks like he’s still got it. I loved the intro and his voice is still holding up well too.

                  I agree. I think he also fell in love with his best friend George Harrisons wife which prompted him to write Layla. I lost respect for him due to his views during the pandemic. The guy seems to be a louse but he did make some great music and I’m glad to see he still can play and sing.

                    A lot of ego on display in that video.
                    I never said that Clapton was my role model as a person.
                    My love of guitar always stemmed from the sound of the blues and Clapton was always blues biggest promoter and a model for the kind of things I wanted to learn.
