Can anyone help me assign the Pentatonic scale positions to each of the CAGED positions Major and Minor?

I can play the Minor Pentatonic scale continuously up and down the neck but I’m having trouble assigning the correct Pentatonic scale “shape” to each of the 5 CAGED positions. (Showing ALL the chord & scale shapes liked together).

I need a picture I guess because calling the Minor pentatonic scale #1 doesn’t mean anything to me. This seems to stem from the fact that the same scale “shape” is assigned a different number depending on whether or not it’s used as a major or a minor.

Brian doesn’t seem to have anything that does that (not that I’ve been able to find),
A picture of the scales at each position of the CAGED framework I mean.
C chord shape: use this pentatonic scale as a minor in that position and use this scale shape as a major AND these are the root notes that anchor each position so eventually they can be tied to each of the MODES……

I’m trying to figure it out using the root notes to find each of the positions but that’s turning out to be a bit too much.

        Suggestions????

          FOUND IT……

          The information is in ML135.
The PDF file in that micro lesson has the information.

          Thanks!

            Hi Ron,
Check EP’s 556-560. Brian did a series on what is contained within each major CAGED shape,ie. roots, scales, arpeggios etc. You will probably find all the info you need.
You are on the right track to tie everything to the roots within one position. That’s why the alternate box numbering system refers to Brian’s box 2 major over box 1 minor as both box number 1 over the same roots, ie location of the roots being more important than identical shape and both boxes starting on the same note. You could just think of five root shapes instead of boxes, ie E shape, D shape, C shape etc. That makes it easier to see all the intervals related to the roots and to combine major and minor boxes. Another advantage of emphasizing roots is to see triads which, ultimately, probably become the most important element for rhythm and lead.

Yes Ron, ML135 PDF has the Major and Minor Scale and CAGED positions in the Key G and as John points out, the series Ep 556 to 560 adds more with arpeggios etc to each of the shapes.

There are only 5 Pentatonic patterns, so not only do you have the 5 shapes for Major and Minor but also there is a Relative Major and Minor Relationship with each of the 5 Shape patterns. I have attached a PDF to illustrate the frameworks.

So with these 3 references you will have the frameworks covered.
